HANDCRAFT PRODUCTION
Handcrafted from solid hardwood and hand-stitched, vegetable-tanned leather, the SwingBell is an ode to German excellence in manufacturing. From the punching of the leather to the carving of the wood, the SwingBells are entirely made by hand in Nordhorn, Germany. Every leather pouch is then filled with iron granules for dynamic weight force and tactile movement. Finished with solid wooden handles, the result is a free weight that resembles a beautiful leather pouch rather than fitness equipment. Its exceptional durability comes from NOHRD's fidelity to using natural, sustainable materials and meticulous workmanship to withstand the ultimate test: the test of time.
IRON GRANULES
TACTILE MOVEMENT
Conventional, static weights focus on linear movements that train large muscle groups. By contrast, the SwingBells generate resistance through freely moving iron pellets within its leather pouch. Each SwingBell is meticulously filled by hand with fine granules that is designed to create a responsive, shifting load which changes subtly with every movement. This internal motion introduces constant micro-adjustments, encouraging greater muscle and fascia engagement, which are the connective tissues surrounding every muscle that gives shape to your muscles. The result is a form of strength resistance that adapts to motion and improves coordination and control for your body.
THE HANDLES
SOLID WOOD
The SwingBell handles are shaped from solid hardwood selected from renewable stocks in the Black Forest of Germany. They offer a secure, confident grip while maintaining structural integrity under performance. Hand-carved and finished with a natural wax oil to protect from scratches and stains, they wooden handles carry a sense of material honesty to every lift, swing, and carry that sustains both you and the planet.
HAND-CUT & HAND-STITCHED
THE LEATHER
Each leather pouch is precisely cut, punched and stitched by hand using vegetable-tanned hides sourced from specialist European tanneries. This traditional tanning method preserves breathability, resilience and natural character without synthetic chemical processing. Over time, the leather on your SwingBells should develop a rich patina that is a demonstration of the evolution of natural materials, and in so doing reflects on the core philosophies of NOHRD of returning to the use of natural, sustainable materials from the Earth.
